Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Deputy Regent of Kotabaru Syairi Mukhlis sent off the district's contingent to participate in the 12th South Kalimantan Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) and the 5th Provincial Paralympic Sport Week (Peparprov) V in Tanah Laut District from October 23 to November 14, 2025.
"Let us make this Porprov and Peparprov event a stage to show our best abilities, uphold sportmanship and strengthen brotherhood between regions," he said in Kotabaru, Tuesday.
Deputy Regent entrusts Kotabaru's athletes and officials with upholding the Kotabaru's good name, show that we are resilient, disciplined, and steadfast contingent.

He appreciated coaches, officials, committees and everyone who has worked hard and involved in preparing this Porprov.
"Hopefully all efforts and sacrifice have been made will become a field of worship for us all," he said.
He said the Kotabaru goverment will provide bonuses to high-achieving athletes as a token of appreciation for their dedication and hard work in bringing honor to Kotabaru.
"Athletes who win gold medals will receive Rp30 million, silver medal Rp20 million and Rp10 million for bronze medals each," said Syairi.

The contingen leader Eka Safruddin said 821 people were sent off to compete in 41 sports. They consisted of 690 athletes, 131 coaches and officials. For Peparprov there were 97 participants, comprising 70 athletes and 27 coaches and officials.
"You who are in this field are the best sons and daughters who will bring honor to the land of Saijaan from the Porprov in Tanah Laut. Good luck, uphold sportmanship, uphold the good name of Saijaan and bring home champion," said Eka Safruddin, who is also Regional Secretary of Kotabaru.
He said Kotabaru is targeting a top 5 at this year's Porprov XII.
"People in Kotabaru are hoping for good news from the Porprov in Tanah Laut, and we are hoping for prayers and support from all people of the Land of Saijaan, hopefuly our target can be achieved," he said.
