Kotabaru, South Kalimantan 28/6 (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Tanah Bumbu Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in South Kalimantan mapped four sub-districts are prone to flooding.
"Especially the areas where rivers flow through, such as Kusan River, Karang Bintang River and others," said Head of Tanah Bumbu BPBD Eka Saprudin, Wednesday.
He said the four sub-districts are Satui, Kusan Hulu, Karang Bintang, and Simpang Empat. In the four sub-districts there are about 20 villages prone to flooding, so people are asked to always be vigilant, especially during high rainfall.
Usually flooding occurs when high rainfall, plus tide of the sea. The condition hamper water flow and cause overflows.
"We urge the community, especially those on the banks of the river to always be vigilant, particularly during heavy rains coincide with tide," said Eka.
The appeal was made by the former Head of Transportation Agency after the flood disaster in Sungai Danau, Sinar Bulan, East Satui, Jombang, West Satui and Sejahtera Mulia on Monday (19/6) due to heavy rains which resulted in hundreds of residents forced to flee in the shelter camp.
Floods caused by high rainfall along with the tidal water inundated hundreds of homes in those Villages.
