Two prisons prepared to be free of corruption

The preparation must be done completely in order to later be awarded the WBK and WBBM,

Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Two prisons in South Kalimantan prepared as integrity zone towards a corruption-free area (WBK) and clean bureaucracy service area (WBBM).

"We have coordinated and preparatory meetings with the ranks of Banjarmasin Prison and Karang Intan Narcotics Prison," said Head of Administration Division of South Kalimantan Regional Office of Justice and Human Rights Ministry (Kemenkumham) Kemas Hamzah Zain here on Friday.

He said the two prisons are Prison Class IIA Banjarmasin and Narcotics Prison Class IIA Karang Intan, Banjar District.

"The preparation must be done completely in order to later be awarded the WBK and WBBM," he said.

Meanwhile Head of Program and Reporting Kemenkumham Andi Basmal said some of the components must be met to get the title, including improvement of public services according to rules and SOP and clean of extortion

Previously, Immigration Class I Banjarmasin and correctional centers (Bapas) Class I Banjarmasin successfully achieved WBK and WBBM.

He said Banjarmasin prison is currently the densest prison in South Kalimantan with over capacity up to 600 percent.

However, guidance to the work units toward WBK and WBBM is expected to be realized.

"The most important is quality improvement and public services need to be better to the community," he told AntaranewsKalsel.
