Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - The South Kalimantan Environment Agency (DLH) is currently assessing government offices that applying environmentally friendly concept in a Low Carbon and Climate Resilient Awarding program.
Head of the agency Hanifah Dwi Nirwana said that the program aims to assess the extent to which each government ofice has implemented sustainable and energy-saving practice to support environmental preservation.
"This low carbon and climate resilient offices assessment measures a number of aspects, such as office policies related to waste management, energy use, water efficiency, and energy efficiency," she said in Banjarmasin, Friday.
The South Kalimantan DLH also assesses green open space to the reduce of using single-use plastic and reduce of carbon emissions.
She hopes every office has internal policies regarding the use of friendly office stationery, reuse of used paper, as well as facilities for sorting organic and non-organic garbage.

The office taking part in the assessment are also encouraged to optimize the use of natural light and energy-saving devices.
"This program is one of our ways to support the creation of clean, healthy, and sustainable work environment," she said.
She hopes this efforts can grow positive habits that later to be applied in living environment of all state civil apparatus (ASN).
The low carbon and resilient climate program is in line with South Kalimantan government's vision to create greener and more sustainable environment.
The DLH will announce the awards for offices that show the best assessment by the end of year.
She said the assessment is divided into three categories, namely the government working unit (SKPD) within the provincial government (bureau/board/agency), vertical office in the South Kalimantan Provincial Government office area, and SKPD in the district or city in South Kalimantan.
