Banjarbaru, Kalsel 3/2 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Governor of South Kalimantan Sahbirin Noor inflames the planting of trees in an effort to save the environment and begin green revolution in all regions of the province.

The declaration of planting trees was held in the office yard of South Kalimantan Forestry Agency at Jalan A Yani Km 34, Banjarbaru, on Friday, witnessed by Forkopimda (members of regional leader communication forums), officials and hundreds of participants.

"Planting trees is simultaneously throughout South Kalimantan to mark planting movement to save the environment so that our grandchildren will enjoy a green and healthy environment," said the governor.

He said the purpose of planting trees is realizing a green revolution namely planting, planting and planting with the results to be enjoyed by children and grandchildren and next generations.

He stressed, tree planting is not just to reach the target of quantity, but must be able to move and change people's behavior to be environmentally conscious.

It's time, he said, the entire community of South Kalimantan to be united together, either government, community, and private in tree planting from now.

Head of Forestry Agency Hanif Faisol Nurofiq said the tree planting is held simultaneously in eight regencies in South Kalimantan by planting 5,250 trees.
