Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor said Kotabaru District, which has the potential for natural wealth, has a great opportunity to be an advanced developing region.
"Kotabaru is a developed and prosperous area, has a natural potential that can attract local and foreign tourists," he said in Banjarmasin, Monday (June 3, 2024).
However, the Governor, who is popularly called Uncle Birin, reminded that the progress of a region is meaningless if it is not followed by an increase in people's welfare.
He said the momentum of its 74 anniversary becomes a starting point towards Kotabaru becoming more advanced and more prosperous, especially in term of the economy of the local community.

Uncle Birin invites all people of Kotabaru to continue to carrying out mutual cooperation in developing and advancing their region to become better known.
The rich marine products of the region can be utilized properly to create a stable economy in the community.
Kotabaru is an area blessed with abundant natural resources, such as plantation, secondary crops, marine potential and fisheries.
"All of thess must be grateful for, manage them properly, developed and improved for the progress and welfare of the community," said the Governor.
Meanwhile, Kotabaru Regent Sayed Jafar said during the 10 year he has led many development achievements have been made in the district.
Sayed was grateful on the 74th anniversary of the district known as "Saijan" had gone through a long phase of the development.
However, his side is not easily satisfied and will continue to improve, especially in the aspect of the regional development.
"Kotabaru will continue to stimulate economic competition through tourism and agribusiness sector, in plantation, agriculture and fisheries, as well as other leading sectors. Community must continue to work together to develop this region," said Sayed.
