Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo instructed Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono to repair the wall of a stadium in Kepahiang, Bengkulu, that caved down and collapsed following the landing of a presidential helicopter.
The incident occurred at the mini stadium in the district's Padang Lekat Village on Tuesday when the Super Puma AS-332L2 presidential helicopter landed in the stadium field.
"About the collapse of a stadium wall, Mr President, yesterday (July 20), instructed the minister to promptly organize repair works," Presidential Secretariat's deputy for protocol, press, and media, Bey Machmudin, stated on Friday.
Machmudin explained that the helicopter was conducting test landing at the stadium to prepare for the presidential visit scheduled for Thursday. It was suspected that the wall could not withstand the gust of wind from the helicopter's propeller.
However, during his visit, Widodo decided to travel to Kepahiang by land instead of by air.

Machmudin also clarified that the helicopter's landing point also adhered to the prevailing safety standard, which requires it to be 50-70 metres from any structure.
During his visit to Kepahiang on Thursday, Widodo visited the Kepahiang Regional General Hospital to observe child stunting handling and existing health care facilities.
"I come to Kepahiang Hospital to ensure that the hospital is taking care of child stunting cases," he stated after visiting the hospital.
He also commended the hospital facility and several health officers, primarily medical specialists, which he found to be satisfactory.
However, Widodo noted that the hospital lacked adequate equipment for cataract surgery. To address the issue, he promised a prompt delivery of the equipment.
