Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - People in West and Central Banjarmasin will suffer clean water crisis, because of leak in taps water pipeline.


Technical Director of the municipal taps water company PDAM Bandarmasin Yudha Ahmadi said Wednesday the leak hit main pipeline on Simpang Rawasari Bridge at Jalan Jafri Zamzam, resulting in serious disruption of water distribution to customers in Western and Central Banjarmasin.

"PDAM will make repairment as soon as possible. We still probe the cause of the leak of the pipe," he said.

PDAM, said Yudha, will carry out the repair on leaking pipes on Thursday (30/6) until Friday (1/7) from 21.00 pm until 04.00 am.

"When repairment carried out water distribution stopped completely," he said.

It is estimated, said Yudha, the water flow will be normal for both areas for two days after the repairment is done.

"We PDAM directors apologize for the inconvenience, and hope that all the customers can understand," said Yudha.

Because, he said, this is not a deliberate leak, but because of the impact of nature in which the land in this area is unstable and often shifted because of the heavy burden that passed over it.

"For this we urge customers to hold enough water to survive on the disturbances," he said.

And of course, said Yudha, customers can learn to conserve water, so that supplies could be sufficient until the completion of repair work later.

"We will also provide delivery service for clean water, please contact the taps," he said.

According to him, PDAM continues to provide the best service for the people of this region that fulfilled the needs of clean water. "Because there are many pipes are old age, then gradually we repair and replace it with a more powerful and modern," he said.
