Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan ready to develop martial art Hapkido, and will participate in any of the sports event organized by the Indonesia Federation of Sports Recreation Society (Formi).


The founder of Hapkido Indonesia V Yoyo Suryadi in Banjarbaru on Saturday said it seeks that this Korean martial art to grow and develop in South Kalimantan.

He said the branch management of Hapkido in South Kalimantan has also been formed and become the 25th branch. Previous 24 branches already established spread across the provinces in Indonesia.

Prior to the establishment of management there are three stages must be passed, namely a short course, followed by exam to increase the level. The inauguration of the board will be after four months.

"The three stages must be passed and in the time of the level test also carried out seminar and the inauguration," said the World Hapkido Dan VII.

According to him, the hallmark of martial art Hapkido techniques rely on softness, without weapons, and put locks and dings and not an elbow and punches.

"Hapkido philosophy is to maintain the balance in accordance to abbreviation` hap` word meaning harmony, `ki` as form of energy and do` for road, so it will be harmonization of energy, "he explained.

It seeks to Hapkido achievement, especially in the national Hapkido championship to be held in Yogyakarta on 20-21 August 2016.

Deputy Mayor Banjarbaru Darmawan Setiawan Jaya supported Hapkido Martial and it is expected to help the vision and mission of Banjarbaru as characterised service city.
