Marabahan, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The government of Barito Kuala (Batola) declared an emergency handling of floods in two sub-districts, namely Kuripan Tabukan.


"If there is no obstacle, Monday (19/4) we along with Regent H Hasanuddin Murad go to Jakarta to report the status of the flood emergency," said Head of the Batola Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Ardiansyah in Marabahan, Saturday.

According to him, the regents and BPBDs departure to the central government in Jakarta to coordinate and propose fund for handling flood in the area.

Funds to be proposed to the center, he explained, is to provide necessities of those suffering from the floods and for operational personnel in the field of disaster management.

Fund proposed to the central government amounted to Rp695 million came from an unexpected post of the National Disaster Management Agency (BPBN).

In addition to a proposal to the central government, local government has proposed a total of 37 tons of rice aid to the South Kalimantan provincial government.

The rice, he explained, is of reserve of South Kalimantan provincial government deposited in the warehouse of Dolog and later used for community in the two sub-districts amounts to 8227 people.

Floods that hit the two sub-districts in the Batola, he said, is still going on, and the flow of water soaked the area has not gone down. While local communities can not work, also suffered skin disease.
