While waiting for funding from the central government, the implementation of construction of the bridge that connects the Kalimantan mainland with the island continues, he said after the plenary session of provincial assembly council (DPRD) in Banjarmasin on Thursday.
The former Banjarbaru Acting Mayor pointed out that provincial government has again allocated about Rp60 billion for the bridge.
"Previously in the 2015 Regional Budget (APBD), South Kalimantan provincial government allocated Rp50 billion, thus now totaling Rp110 billion," he said.
Similarly, Kotabaru district government has allocated Rp50 billion in first phase of funding in its 2016 budget.
"All of these funds, both from the provincial and Kotabaru are for the construction of bridge across the Strait of Pulaulaut," he said to members of DPRD press room.
He explained that the construction work of the bridge, with a span length planned about six kilometers, has so far making feeder roads, foundations and piling.
"While budget from the central government to Pulaulaut Strait bridge estimated about Rp3.6 trillion that we expected in the State Budget (APBN) in 2017," said Martin.
Based on the planning, financing of the bridge do with sharing system: the South Kalimantan provincial government Rp500 billion, then Tanah Bumbu and Kotabaru Rp250 billion respectively.
