Pelaihari, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Head of the Tanah Laut Environment Agency (BLH) Riyadi confirmed mining company PT Jorong Barutama Greston ready to rehabilate a former illegal mine land in its operational area.
"PT Jorong Barutama Greston (JBG) readiness to a reclamation of a former illegal mine land now waiting for legal basis from Tanah Laut government," said BLH head Riyadi in Pelaihari, Monday (14/12).
The mining land has not been reclaimed so far, as it has no legal basis from local government and PT JGB feared against the rule. But the company statement, he said, mean PT JBG responsible for environmental damage in the operational area.
Before Tanah Laut issue legal basis for PT JBG, BLH first took to the field to check the extent and which areas must be reclaimed.
He explained based on the BLH's count, environmental damage caused by illegal mining in PT JBG area estimated 150 hectares.
If the legal basis issued, then the PT JBG not only to conduct reclamation, but also reforestation and others.
"In a land improvement efforts in the area of PT JBG we involve mining and environmental consultants, so that handling is totally integrated," he said.
