Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno invited millennials and members of Gen Z to use opportunities in the Metaverse era for boosting the economy, especially the tourism and creative economy sectors.
"In the Metaverse era, entrepreneurs can access unlimited opportunities to avail many benefits in ways that were never imagined," Uno remarked while attending a discussion on Metaverse in Sleman District, Yogyakarta, as quoted in a press statement here on Saturday.
Metaverse is a virtual world that allows shopping, socializing, partaking in activities, trading, engaging in recreation, and also studying for users.

According to Uno, creative industry players creating digital, design, and game products hold vast potential to seize several benefits in the Metaverse era.
"As human resources in Indonesia are largely those from the productive age group, the Metaverse era is viewed as being a platform and an opportunity for economic acceleration," the minister expounded.
According to Uno, at least 23 million jobs are most likely to be replaced in this new era. However, on the other hand, 46 million new jobs are available related to artificial intelligence, blockchain, virtual reality, and augmented reality.

Furthermore, the Indonesian government will implement the design of the new capital in the Metaverse, or a world where virtual communication is endless.
According to National Development Planning (PPN) Minister and Head of the National Development Planning Board (Bappenas) Suharso Monoarfa, Metaverse will help the government in introducing the new capital (IKN) in a more comprehensible way.
Monoarfa spoke of a team that is creating a Metaverse for Indonesia's new capital that is targeted to be completed in four months.
