Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The City Government of Banjarmasin carries on intensifying vaccination against COVID-19 to its residents, while the coverage for the first dose vaccine has approximately reached 72 percent.
Head of Health Agency Machli Riyadi here on Saturday, December 11, 2021, said that everyday coverage has been recorded to reach up to 1,500 including for the first, second, and the third dose (booster) vaccine.
Meanwhile, the city is now being hit by rob flood due to the high sea tide. However, he said, the implementation of vaccination in the city --with a total population of 656,000-- kept being carried out.
"Currently it has reached approximately 72 percent or about 367,000 of the targets have been realized, especially for the first dose," he pointed out.
As for the targets who have received the second dose jab, Machli Riyadi said, they have almost reached 55 percent or 282,000.
"And about 1.12 percent or 5,760 have received booster jab," he said.

The city health workers, he acknowledged, were enthusiastic to reach 80 percent of the COVID-19 vaccination by the end of the year, even though the tidal flood has not stopped hitting the city.
"Yes (rob flood) of course becomes an obstacle but a challenge as well for our agency to reach the target of 80 percent by December 31, 2021," he said.
The challenge, Machli Riyadi said, in addition, to implementing the COVID-19 vaccination program amid the rob, the agency should also concentrate to provide health services for flood victims.
