"The boat assistance from PT BUMA aims to support the equipment of the Balangan BPBD in dealing with flood disasters," said the acting Head of BPBD H Rahmi in Paringin, Tuesday.
He was very grateful for the assistance from the company because it is very useful in mitigating disasters, especially floods.
"Alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah) this equipment is very helpful for handling flood, besides it can be borrowed to other related parties who want to borrow," he said.

He pointed out the potential for frequent floods, especially in the sub-district area of Juai, Awayan, Tebing Tinggi, Halong, and Batumandi.
Currently the condition of Balangan River water discharge is normal, although there is still the potential for rainy season.
"We really hope that the flood disaster in Balangan can be controlled. (We) continue to monitor the water discharge and prepare equipment as our preparedness for disasters," he said.
