Tanjung, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Adaro realizes the importance of implementing programs that are in line with the need of the government and through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) the company carries out stunting prevention and handling, especially in its operational areas.
One of them is in Murung Raya District, Central Kalimantan, which is in the operational area of Adaro Metcoal Companies (AMC).
Based on Bappenas data, Murung Raya is one of the 2022 priorities to accelerate stunting handling, because it has a (high) 40 percent stunting rate.
AMC together with the Murung Raya Health Agency since 2018 have made efforts to prevent and handle stunting.
“We keep committed and consistent in stunting prevention efforts, of course with the support of related parties," said Fery Basrah, External Relation Dept Head ofAMC.
He emphasized that this commitment is not just words, but is proven through activities have been, are being, and will be carried out.
AMC helps optimize the role of posyandu (integrated health services post) as a frontline in stunting prevention and handling.
At the posyandu, information is disseminated on balanced nutrition and exclusive breastfeeding, infant and child feeding that can increase knowledge, attitudes and positive behavior of mothers in preventing stunting.
AMC has also been revitalizing posyandu in several villages in the company's operational area since 2018. It included providing training for posyandu cadres to orderly implement the five dest posyandu system and to understand their duties and obligations.
Health workers are also given education in accordance with the ongoing development of health issues.

Head of Murung Raya Health Agency Suria Siri expressed his gratitude to Adaro for helping to reduce the stunting rate in the form of an effective program that can be felt directly by the community.
In addition to AMC, several other Adaro subsidiaries also provide assistance to posyandu, such as PT Tanjung Power Indonesia, PT Mustika Indah Permai, and PT Maritim Barito Perkasa.
Through these activities, Adaro seeks to contribute to accelerating the achievement of the stunting reduction target to 14 percent by 2024.
