Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-owned electricity provider PT PLN has built 47 Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) to support the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia.
“As of now, we have built as many as 47 SPKLU, and by the end of this year, there will be an addition of 67 SPKLU,” PLN Corporate Communication Executive Vice President Agung Murdifi noted in a statement here, Monday.
Murdifi highlighted that the current trend of electric vehicles in Indonesia presented novel business opportunities. Murdifi affirmed that his side had facilitated third parties keen to build SPKLU, including providing partnership services through a website.

The website facilitates the registration and administration of business entities looking to build an SPKLU by accessing the https://service.pln.co.id/partnership-spklu page.
"We will provide PLN's Electricity Supply Business Permit (IUPTL) for business entities keen to cooperate, ready electricity supply, as well as support the Charge.IN application in managing SPKLU," Murdifi stated.
According to Murdifi, the partners can function as providers of electric vehicle charging facilities, land and property providers, as well as providers of SPKLU operations and maintenance.
Apart from providing charger stations, PLN has also launched the Home Charging Services (HCS) product that aims to offer convenience to people in using electric vehicles.

The advantages of this facility entail power addition, home charger equipment, home charger installation, as well as home charger integration into the PLN Charge.IN system, thereby offering consumers a 30-percent discount on home charger usage rates between 22:00 and 05.00 WIB.
Research results from various institutions indicated that electric car sales climbed by 46 percent in 2020. This is in contrast to the sales of conventional cars that decreased by 14 percent.
Based on the road map compiled by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the number of electric vehicles in Indonesia is projected to reach 2.2 million electric cars and 13 million electric motorcycles, with 31,859 SPKLU units available in 2030.
