Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - A total of 20 lanting or house that floats on the Martapura River in Sungai Baru, Pekapuran Laut Village, Banjarmasin, were certain to be evicted.
"We have already sent letters to the owners to immediately dismantle or move their lanting, as we would build siring (river embankment)," said Head of Banjarmasin Governance Agency (Tapem) Iwan Ristianto at City Hall on Monday.
According to him, the municipal government can only provide ex-gratia or unloading costs to floating home owners at maximum of Rp5 million as estimated for building.
"We already did persuasive steps to lanting owners to immediately dismantle the building, if you reluctant and stubborn the local government will take decisive steps to evict them by force," he said.
According to him, the release of the 20 lanting is in incoming packets for the release of 56 buildings along the riverbank of Martapura from Dewi Bridge to Pangeran Antasari Bridge with a budget of Rp24 billion.
He said the liberation of building along Sungai Baru area had been carried out from the year 2014 and 2015.
