Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Kotabaru district administration began to multiply granary, especially in the area of producing the crop cultivation, to support food security programs.


Head of Kotabaru Agriculture Agency Ir Hairuddin said Tuesday, in addition to the East Pulau Laut, there are several new areas that deserve to be the granary, like Bumi Asih and Pembelacanan.

"Bumi Asih and Pembelacanan Village targeted to become a center crop of rice, corn and soybeans (Pajale)," said Hairudin, after harvest in the village of Pembelacanan and Bumi Asih.

He said the vast paddy, corn, and soybeans in the two villages is 335 hectares and 303 hectares has been realized or has exceeded the target.

Farmers Group Maju Makmur in Pembelacanan village is now ready to harvest 50 hectares of 149 hectares.

Regent Kotabaru H Irhami Ridjani said, in order to support food security programs, local governments focus on the development of the agricultural sector.
