This policy as a precaution so that the school free from the influence of drugs and if rehabilitation efforts by counseling teachers are not able to sensitize students to quit drug use.
Amuntai, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Six students of a high schol in Amuntai, North Hulu Sungai, were forced out of school due to drug case.


Adiyat Rahman Ghazali, the principal of the scholl, here on Monday said that the policy was taken to protect other students so as not be affected by the use and distribution of drugs.

"Starting in 2011 the schools require students to sign a waiver willing to be expelled from school if entangle in drug cases," he said in a press release.

This policy as a precaution so that the school free from the influence of drugs and if rehabilitation efforts by counseling teachers are not able to sensitize students to quit drug use.

"We do not intend to make the students dropping out of school, but return to their parents to be sent to school in another place," said Ahdiyat.

This policy had drawn criticism and protests from the government and society.

However the policy get attention from local Education Agency that in the future it plans to provide psychologist and ustadz to help with rehabilitation efforts.
