Pelaihari, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Tanah Laut Family Welfare Movement Driving Team (TP-PKK) held a snack competition made from local food in Jorong Village, Jorong Sub-district, Friday (20/11).
"The purpose of this activity is to boost the creativity of the residents of Jorong Village," said Chairwoman of the Tanah Laut TP-PKK Hj Nurul Hikmah Sukamta. The competition held in the routine activity of informal meetings called Manunggal Tuntung Pandang (MTP).
She said, this is to increase public understanding of the importance of local food management and the creation of various food preparation. Moreover, it could provide added value for the family.
"With creativity and attractive presentation, even though the food is simple, surely other people, including family members, are pleased and have a high appetite," he said.
Another goal is for residents to get used to serving healthy food and with guaranteed cleanliness, so they can protect themselves from various diseases, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the snack competition, the neighborhood unit (RT) 06 won first place, RT 01 second, and RT 02 third.
MTP activities were held by complying with the standard of health protocol, such as washing hands, wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and not gathering large crowds.
MTP also provided public services, including health, E-KTP (e-ID), low price market, the delivery of 20 staple food packages from Baznas for the elderly in Jorong Village, and souvenirs from Sasirangan Calap Baimbai group of the Jorong Village, assisted by PT JBG.
