Barabai, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Regent of Central Hulu Sungai (HST) H A Chairansyah opened a tourist destination management training for tourism business actors. It was organized by the HST Youth, Sport, and Tourism Agency at the Hotel Banjarmasin Internasional (HBI), Wednesday (Nov 18, 2020).
Head of Tourism Division of the agency M Fakhrurazi said the training aimed to improve the quality of tourist destination managers and the capacity of tourism business practitioners.
This will realize the Sapta Pesona (consisting of seven elements, namely safe, orderly, clean, cool, beautiful, friendly, and memorable) in tourist destination and build a new paradigm for the development of tourism in HST according to the mandate of Law No.10 of 2009 on the goal of tourism development.
"The training was attended by 40 participants from representatives of tourist destination management in HST, held for three days from November 18 to 20, 2020," he said.
Regent H A Chairansyah said tourism is a sector that can improve the people's economy, increase appreciation of local culture, build better friendship among nations and individuals both nationally and globally. Tourism is not a stand-alone sector but a multisector industry.
"Benchmarks for the success of tourism can be determined from the realization of conducive climate in the form of support and acceptance of people toward tourism development in the region and the preparation of supporting infrastructure," said the regent.
