Kandangan, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The administrator of PT Surya Langgeng Sejahtera Sugito stated the company had prepared thoroughly to face land and forest fire with human resources and equipment, even exceeding the standards.
He said, the company is assisted by the police (Polri) and military (TNI), and involved Manggala Agni Fire Brigade, even 86 out of 110 of the PT SLS's Emergency Response Preparedness Team (TKTD) personnel received certificates from Manggala Agni.
"Based on the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) with a standard area of 10 thousand hectares, which is then reduced by 5.007 hectares only need 50 personnel, then the number of TKTD exceeds the standard," he said, Friday (June 19, 2020).
Alll equipment has been prepared and checked directly by Reskrimsus (Police Special Crime Investigation), and supported by eight watchtowers and drones to monitor the existence of hot spots.
"Our company's land is a swampy area which water need is very much fulfilled, there is a reservoir and trench with a pattern of one trench for two palm plants, and due to entering the dry season expected by June, our vigilance is increased," he said in the 2020 PT SLS forest and land fire preparedness ceremony.
With its location between two sub-district, Kalumpang and Simpur with 19 villages, he stated that the company is committed to making the plantation safe from fires, even zero smog.

PT SLS also cooperates with Fire Concerned Farmers Group (KTPA) from nine villages established by a decree from the South Kalimantan Plantation Office.
The company synergizes with the surrounding community, also with TNI and Polri routinely, while the task force receives training from Manggala Agni and have an official certificate.
For the effective fire monitoring, besides using drones, PT SLS task force patrols are divided into three shifts, plus seven modified motorcycles for spraying water to extinguish the fire.
The seven motorcycles equipped with a water pump and exhaust pipe. Patrolling supported by seven motorcycles is considered to be more effective in the Kalumpang area.
The preparedness ceremony was attended by HSS District Police ChiefAKBP Siswoyo with the ranks, Commander (Dandim) of 1003 Kandangan Military Command Lt.Col.Arm. Dedy Soehartono and the ranks, TKTD and the PT SLS task force.
