Amuntai, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - North Hulu Sungai (HSU) Regent H Abdul Wahid exempted the bill for 2.200 low-income government-owned tap water company PDAM Amuntai customers.
"Based on the data there may be more than 10 thousands of PDAM customers, but we exempt up to 2.200 water bill for low-income people," Wahid stated in Amuntai, Monday.
He said, the exempted bills are for June and July payments from the previous month's usage.
This policy, he pointed out, in an effort to ease the economic burden of low-income people affected by the COVID 19 pandemic.
When leading the first morning ceremony after Idul Fitri on Tuesday (May 26, 2020), Wahid again appealed to civil servants, officials, and the public to comply with the protocol to preventing COVID 19 transmission.
"Always wear a mask when going out, often do ablution or wash your hands, keep your distance, and avoid crowds," he insisted.
"Hopefully this healthy lifestyle becomes part of the behavior of HSU community both in the city and in the villages, so we can break the chain of the spread of COVID 19" he said.
Based on observation on Tuesday there were still quite a lot of residents who ignored the government appeal. Some parents brought their toddlers to be in the midst of people who relaxed or enjoyed food at the Taman Puteri Junjung Buih area.
There was no Satpol PP, police, TNI, or officers from the task force trying to give a warning at the location of the green open area in the city of Amuntai.
