They only get health insurance which paid by the state budget,Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The first phase of Cash Social Assistance (BST) from the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) began to be distributed on Monday (May 11, 2020) in Banjarmasin at the Lambung Mangkurat Post Office to 7,000 recipients.
Head of the City's Social Office Iwan Ristianto said, the total recipients of BST were 15.789. They were included in the ministry's Integrated Data Base, updated as of January 2020. The BST worth Rp600 thousand for each for three months from April to June, so in total each recipient will receive Rp1.8 million.
"The BST recipients are not included in the Family Hope Program (PKH) or other assistance programs. They only get health insurance which paid by the state budget," Iwan said during the symbolic handover of the BST by Banjarmasin Mayor H Ibnu Sina.
The first phase BST was for April, which can only be disbursed in May, so there will be the second phase in May. "Later the third phase for June will be completed on time," he hoped.

To withdraw the BST fund, each recipient should bring with them original ID (KTP) and Family Card (KK). The reason, said Iwan, to make it easier if there is a recipient who cannot come because of sick or other reasons.
"The withdrawal can be represented by the heirs, such as son or wife or anyone included in the family card by attaching the original KTP by the represented and the representing," he said.
Meanwhile, Mayor H Ibnu Sina hoped, the assistance provided by the Social Affairs Ministry to be utilized as best as possible in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to him, it is very clear that the pandemic has a major impact on the economy of Banjarmasin.
The first stage handover of BST was also attended by Banjarmasin DPRD Speaker Harry Wijaya and other members.
