It's not our designation as ODP that made us worry or the strict treatment of dormitory and medical team. Information circulating on social media, on Instagram, on Whatsapp group and others, made us very sad,
Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Yuniar Anggraini Zahra, a student of the Global Islamic Boarding School (GIBS) in Barito Kuala District, South Kalimantan, has just finished 14 days of quarantine at her school, after returning from a trip to Australia.

Yuniar said she and 51 of her classmates had learned a lot during their quarantine.

"Many lessons we can get while in quarantine. How to live in a disciplined manner in maintaining cleanliness, healthy lifestyle and more than that how to deal with difficulties by supporting and strengthening each other," she said when she was just arrived home on Saturday (April 4, 2020).

Even though she lived in a dormitory for more than one and a half years, according to her, it was different compared to undergoing quarantine.

It began when her school held what so-called program Hijrah (Immersion Program) or a trip to Australia, which had been planned since they were in tenth grade.

This is a permanent program from GIBS High School, so students can learn something from the learning process and culture of other nations. The program is what the students have been waiting for the most.

However, in contrast to previous years, this year it coincided with the global pandemic of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), which began in Wuhan, China.

There were no worries in their departure, as in Indonesia indeed nothing happened at that time. The situation was relatively safe.

When the students were in Australia, precisely in Brisbane, the conditions were also conducive.

"We study happily, there were no worries at all, although our teacher always reminded us to be wary until we returned homeland," she told.

During their trip home, Yuniar claimed to be very happy. After a long time not meeting with both parents.

Even though when arrived in the country, they went through a quite strict examination, but it did not make her or her friends worry.

Worry came when they were in quarantine. It was when they were declared as Persons Under Monitoring (ODP).

"It's not our designation as ODP that made us worry or the strict treatment of dormitory and medical team. Information circulating on social media, on Instagram, on Whatsapp group and others, made us very sad," she said.

Netizens, she said, many offended and judged with words that made us sad.

But, she added, the students felt grateful, thanked to the support of ustadz-ustadzah (teachers) who calmed and gave understanding, making all students excited again to undergo the quarantine period of 14 days.

"We are always implanted with words, this quarantine is not only for our interest, but for the good of our friends, family, and community, so we must be sincere in doing it," she recalled.

Always implanted a motto: We stay at school for you,  We learn at school for you,  You stay at home for us, You learn at home for us.

The determination was made because before 55 members of Australia trip returned, GIBS had to send home all members of the dormitory, as the location to be used for quarantine.

"We live with quite strict and disciplined. Although the location is very broad, the movement is completely restricted, we could only visit location around the quarantine. But we live with a happy heart," she said.

To reduce boredom during the quarantine, GIBS provided traditional game tools, sports equipment, brought for them a gymnastic instructor, and stand up comedy.

Until finally the 14 days were over. After being re-examined by the health team, all members of the group were declared healthy with negative test results.

"Now we return to our parents, but just one day at home, it feels like missing the good times in quarantine, supporting and strengthening each other. More than that, we learn to protect each other by controlling ego and self-interest," she said.
