Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Special Crime Directorate (Ditkrimsus) of South Kalimantan Regional Police (Polda) secured ironwood from a person who tries to smuggle them out. But the perpetrator fled and is now being hunted by the police.

Director of Polda's Ditkrimsus Kombes Lukas Akbar Abrari through Kasubdit IV Tipidter Kompol Teguh Wibowo here on Saturday said that the raid on timber smuggling is often, but there still anyone dare to do so.

On Wednesday (6/11) at around 16:30 pm on the Trans Kalimantan Road RT 15 in Jorong Subdistrict, Tanah Laut District, police suspect APV car covered with very dark red glass with a plate number DA 428 RH.

Police immediately stopped the car, and see a lot of ironwood in it. Police asked the certificate of the wood. But the driver immediately scamper. Because he can not be pursued, police then secured hundreds of ironwoods as well as the car.

"The identity of the driver was already known. Now he is being in pursuit to take responsibility for his actions," said Lukas.

Police will continue to conduct enforcement against the perpetrators who dared and tried to smuggle the typical timber of South Kalimantan to other areas, if caught will be dealt with firmly. 

For offenders who are caught will be charged under Article 78 (7) in conjunction with Article 50 paragraph (3) h Law Decree No. 41 of 1999 on Forestry in conjunction with Law No. 19 Year 2004 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulation No. 1 of 2004.

"All the rules that bind to timber smuggling business is already clear that whoever the person dared to commit the crime will be processed according to the applicable law, " he explained.
