The president and his entourage departed from the Bogor Presidential Palace for Harkat Jaya Village, Sukajaya Sub-district, at 7:30 a.m. local time. It took two hours for the president to reach the village by land.
The disaster has severed access to six villages of Kiarapandak, Kiara Sari, Urug, Cileuksa, Pasir Madang, and Cisarua in Sukajaya Sub-district.
However, the president and his entourage were unable to visit some of the villages owing to difficult access.

"When the president and his entourage arrived at Harkat Jaya Village, they faced difficulties in reaching the villages due to poor access. Hence, the president only visited victims taking refuge at a command post located in Cibuluh Hamlet, Harkat Jaya Village," ANTARA TV reported.
The president's entourage comprised Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Health Minister Terawan Agus, Social Affairs Minister Juliari Batubara, and Public Works and Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono.
The government has also provided food aid to the flash flood and landslide victims.
A flash flood and landslide, triggered by torrential rains on New Year's Eve 2020, engulfed the villages the following day.
During a plenary cabinet session on Monday, Dec 6, 2020, the president instructed relevant ranks and files to step in to help victims of floods and landslides in several parts of the country.
