Kotabaru Police Seized Thousands Zeniths

Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - The Kotabaru Police Narcotics Unit in recent weeks seized tens of thousands of Zenith involving several suspects.

Kotabaru Police Chief AKBP Rizal Irawan, accompanied by Drug Unit Chief Iptu Sugino here on Monday said, tens of thousands of zenith were covered up in several cases.

"In September, police seized 9,800 zeniths with one suspect," he said.

Last week, Sugino continued, his team re-captured 2,000 zenith, with a suspects, Aw, an old player who has been in prison in the same case.

Sunday (20/10), the Narcotics Unit re-captured 5,000 or 50 boxes of Zenith or Karnopen from a suspect in Jalan Sukmaraga Kotabaru.

"The goods are found in a cardboard wrap in a package from someone outside Kotabaru," he said.

Before the goods reach the addressee in Kotabaru, Sugino told, police had been doing surveillance on the distribution of illicit goods.

Karnopen was sent by someone who has long been a target of operations (TO) of Police in a case of narcotics and illegal drugs.

Chief of Kotabaru Criminal Police AKP Fahrurozi added, police want to break the chain of drug trafficking, including the zenith or karnopen.

"Our target is to break the chain of big ones, and catch the distributors, not the small players, because by that way, the circulation of illegal drugs can be reduced," he said.

The suspects will be charged under Section 196-197 of Act 36 of 2009 on Health with the threat of 10 years in prison. *** ***
