Banjarbaru , South Kalimantan ( Antaranews ) - Banjarbaru Police is handling firearms possession case involving a
citizen of Musi Banyu Asin, South Sumatra.
"One suspects with the name of Alek, resident of Musi Banyu Asin, South Sumatra, have been secured for further legal process," Banjarbaru Police Chief AKBP Rico Sunarko told reporters on Tuesday.
He said the South Sumatra Police intended to handle the case, but because of the origin of firearms evidence findings derived from Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, so they decided Banjarbaru Police to handle the case.
Evidence seized from the suspects in the form of a revolver type pistol containing 10 rounds of ammunition and a FN pistol containing seven rounds.
The suspect arrested by Banjarbaru Police's criminal detective (Satreskrim) at his home in the village of Sebubu, Musi Banyu Asin, South Sumatra, on Sunday (15/9). Satreskrim was backed up by police detectives for violent crime (Jatanras) and supported by South Sumatra Police Ditreskrim member.
Chronological uncovering of firearm possession case originated from a report from delivery service about suspicious package sent to the suspect's address from Banjarbaru. The findings was reported to the police who then followed Banjarbaru package to the address in Palembang which was home of the suspect 's sister.
Having traced the suspect was in his village so the officer moved to arrest the suspects and to ensure that packets sent was firearms without a license .
