Barabai, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Consumption of fish meat in the district of Central Hulu Sungai (HST) was considered quite high, said Regent Haji Harun Nurasid.

"The level of fish meat consumption of the citizens of HST reaches 43 kilograms per capita/year," he said when receiving the halal bihalal committee of Murakata South Kalimantan Big Family Harmony Association (HKKB)  in Barabai (165 km north of Banjarmasin), on Tuesday.

"While the level of fish meat consumption of South Kalimantan only about 41 kg per capita / year," he said on his return from attending campaign likes to eat the flesh of fish, in the village of Tanjung (about 14 km from Barabai, capital HST), subdistrict Hantakan, Meratus slopes.

He stated, Earth Murakata or HST is potential of freshwater fisheries, both of which are in the rivers and lakes or swamps monotonous.

"Especially in recent years, HST residents also cultivate freshwater fish, either in the form of ponds or cages," he said.
