Banjarbaru Develop Kaolin

Banjarbaru, Kalsel (Antaranews) – The Banjarbaru Administration ready to develop kaolin as raw materials for craft  to be made as the city’s typical products.

Head of Banjarbaru Cooperatives and Micro, Small and Middle Enterprises M Fachruddin said here on Friday, the potential of koalin in located in subdistrict Cempaka large enough  that could be developed.

He said the, it has a good  quality of that could be processed into goods handicraft and worth of selling high. Kaolin can made into various shapes, such as cups, bowls, plate and other.

"Goods of processed hand-made  craft from kaolin could be labeled  as Banjarbaru specific products so that anyone visiting can get it," he revealed.

So far, he said, development of kaolin already done by State Vocational High Schools (SMKN) 1 who bring in lecturer from Java and teach students to cultivate ceramics made from kaolin.

"The result was pretty nice but development product still in the school environment so that we plan to bring in experts who could teach the manufacture of products which more big," he said.

His already ask for directions of Banjarbaru Mayor  Ruzaidin Noor regarding the kaolin development plan and got the full support so he strive for development program could be implemented in 2013.
