Surabaya, E Java (ANTARA) - The Indonesia-United States joint marine exercise ended at the marine infantry battalion station 3 in Sidoarjo, East Java, Friday. Commander of the Marine Infantry Battalion 3, Major Eko Budi Prasetyo, representing Commander of the Marine Corps, Major General Suhartono M. Tr (Han) officially closed the 10-day joint exercise called Marine Tactical Warfare Simulation (MTWS) Non-Combatant Evacuation Operation (NEO) for the budget year 2019.
"The series of activities and materials that the organizing committee prepared could be completed on schedule and met the target," he said.
The joint exercise was aimed at exchanging expertise, capability and skills as part of efforts to improve professionalism as landing troops in conducting amphibian operations, he said.
Therefore, he expressed his gratitude to all the participants of the joint exercise, particularly the soldiers of the Indonesian Marine Corps and hoped they could practice the experiences and materials obtained from the joint exercise in their respective units.
"This is part of the efforts to improve the professionalism of the Marine Corps soldiers to support the main tasks of their units," he said.
He further expressed gratitude to the US government for the cooperation and planning realized so that the joint exercise could run as expected.
He also bade farewell to the United States Marine Pacific (US MARFORPAC) delegation and hoped to meet them again in a joint exercise in the future.
