Barabai, South Kalimantan (Antaranews.Kalsel) - Government of Hulu Sungai Tengah, South Kalimantan, expect the Indigenous Peoples Alliance of the Archipelago (AMAN) to partner government in the distribution of development for indigenous Dayak Meratus.
Government Affairs Assistant Regional Secretariat Ainur Rafiq at Memorial Day of Indigenous Peoples Resurrection in Barabai, the capital of HST, South Kalimantan, Sunday (17/3), stated the local government continues to seek guardianship of the indigenous Dayak Meratus in the HST, in all fields.
"But it would be difficult for us to do so if no parties as a partner to provide support in implimentation," he said.
AMAN as an institution that protect indigenous peoples, are expected to participate and to make efforts at the national level to encourage the acceleration of development in all areas of the life of the local indigenous Dayak Meratus.
He said the location of the region and the indigenous Dayak settlements in Meratus deep in the mountains and forests became an obstacle for the local government. He added that it takes a considerable cost to the local government to carry out the distribution of development in remote and regional indigenous Dayak settlements Meratus.
"Therefore, it takes a partnership with AMAN to also advocate at the national level so that local governments obtain the necessary funding for the development of tribal areas," he added.

Meanwhile, Regent of HST H. Harun Nurasid in Banjarmasin on Sunday, hoping intelligence can reduce the possibility of unrest in a society so as not easily accept the provocation with unclear source and origin.
