Banjarmasin (South Kalimantan Antaranews) - National Bureau of Statistics said the farmers in South Kalimantan is currently enjoying huge profits following gains rate to 0.35 per cent of farmers which is the highest in Indonesia.

Head of Statistics and Distribution Ir. Zulkifli in Banjarmasin, on Wednesday, said the rise in the exchange rate of the farmers were driven by rising prices for commodities, especially rice grain locally.

Based on a survey of the 70 observations in BPS 10 regencies, the highest grain prices from dry grain harvest of rice varieties with prices conjoined Virgin Rp5.100 per kilogram.
Lowest price worth Rp3.472 per kilogram, comes from quality rice varieties IR42 GKP occurred in sub-District Angkinang, Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency.

Zulkifli said that the ten districts as an object surveys, namely were Tanah Laut, Banjar, Barito Kuala, Tapin,
Hulu Sungai Selatan, Hulu Sungai Tengah, Hulu Sungai Utara, Tabalong, Tanah Bumbu, and Balangan.

The average grain GKP quality at the farm level rose 0.5 percent from Rp4.080, 90/kg in January to Rp4.101, 44/kg in February.
