South Kalimantan Regional Police's Director of Traffic Sr Comr Muji Ediyanto gave special attention by monitoring landslide prone routes on the South and East Kalimantan border to avoid casualties in the mudik (homecoming) holiday season later.


"The area prone to landslides is in Lano Village, Jaro Subdistrict, Tabalong. It should be watched out and become our common concern," said Muji, Thursday, while at the location reviewing the road conditions with a joint team from the Police, Transportation Agency, Hall of Land Transportation Management Office Region XV South Kalimantan, PT Jasa Raharja, and other related agencies.

According to Muji, the crossing in Kalimantan is certainly very important. Especially when the in the number of vehicles increases in the flow of homecoming.

"In addition to the landslide prone areas, some damaged asphalt conditions should also be watched out by drivers. Especially when the vehicle speed is high enough to potentially cause an accident," Muji pointed out.

The Traffic Police Directorate conducted a track survey with the team to map the accident-prone points and prone to traffic jams during this year's holidays season.

The security of the road will be commanded by the Police by holding a centralized police operation code Ketupat Operation 2019 to safeguard Eid Al-Fitr from the end of May to the beginning of June.
