Two victims of landslides in Teluk Sungai Village, RT 6, Pulau Sembilan Subdistrict, Kotabaru, were found by a joint SAR team with the local residents on Wednesday.


Acting Chief of the Kotabaru Disaster Mitigation Agency Rusian Ahmadi Jaya said the two victims on behalf of Barikatul Hikmah (25) and her baby Ria Naksa Sabandia (7 months) were found to have died.

"Both have been found and evacuated. Details and chronology may be more entitled to deliver by Basarnas (the National Search and Rescue Agency), but the important thing is that our heavy duty for seven days is fruitful," he said.

During the past week the joint SAR team and the local people worked hard to search for the two victims buried in houses buried by landslides.

Landfill of rubble and soil as deep as eight meters, while excavation can only be done manually with hoes and sprayed with water, then flowed into the sea.

Right on the eighth day after the disaster, at around 11:00 the presence of mothers and her baby was finally identified, but it took five hours to evacuate them from under the rubble of the house.
