The government-owned water company PDAM Intan Banjar won at the same time five Top BUMD awards given by the Top Business Magazine in collaboration with the Asia Business Research Center.


The award for the companies, jointly managed by the Banjar District the Banjarbaru City Government, was handed over to the two govenment heads at the Golden Ball Room of The Sultan Hotel Jakarta on Monday.

"We are grateful that the PDAM Intan Banjar won the Top BUMD award, even five awards at once," said the Regent Banjar Khalilurrahman through the Communication and Informatics Agency's press release received by Antara, Monday.

The awarding ceremony was attended by 750 regional heads and TOP BUMD Management throughout Indonesia raised the theme of BUMD (city or district-owned enterprises) to build a sustainable regional economy.

Chairperson of the organization Lutfi Handayani explained, the assessment was carried out by assessment institutions and consultants such as Sinergi Daya Prima, PPM Management, Harvard Business Review, Melani K Harriman Associates, Intellectual Business community, and others.

"Top BUMD participants were screened from 1,149 BUMDs throughout Indonesia, selected to be 200 finalist, then 162 finalists followed a complete assessment. The number of participants increased 10 percent compared to last year's 130 finalists," he said.

BUMD Builder TOP Award, TOP CEO of BUMD, TOP BUMD best all criteria is given to the best BUMD in Indonesia, for the management and repairs made related to business performance in improving and developing regional economy.

Top BUMD 2019 is the most credible award in Indonesia. Of the five award categories won by the PDAM Intan Banjar, 2 categories of Top Trustees were received by the Regent Banjar Khalilurrahman and Mayor Banjarbaru Nadjmi Adhani.

The other three awards received by the company who serving customers in Banjar and Banjarbaru City, namely Top CEO received by the Managing Director of PDAM Intan Banjar Syaiful Anwar, TOP BUMD sector and TOP BUMD best all criteria.

The Managing Director Syaiful Anwar said the award won by the PDAM Intan Banjar was inseparable from the role of all stakeholders, namely the South Kalimantan Provincial Government, the Banjar Regency Government and the Banjarbaru City Government.

"Regional leaders, both the governor, regents and mayors, always help and encourage PDAM Intan Banjar to progress and contribute to regional development, especially in the field of drinking water services," he said.
