The dr. Andi Abdurrahman Noor Hospital as Tanah Bumbu District Hospital (RSUD) through its psychiatric poly has served 500 patients this year.


"From Januari 2019 up till now the number of patients treated in psychiatric poli has reached 500," said Head of Administration Saleh, who represented director of the hospital.

The average patient who comes for treatment were former drug addicts. There were also those who experience psychiatric disorders as a result
of household problems, such as divorce.

He admitted the mental health services at the hospital were only limited to therapy or rehabilitation. If patients had to be treated intensively, they should be referred to the Sambang Lihum Psychiatric Hospital.

According to him, psychiatric poli has been serving since 2010 to help press down the number of mental health patients. But if any patient need an intensive care he or she will be referred to Psychiatric Hospital of Sambang Lihum Banjarmasin.

To make a better service, now the hospital prepares the requirements to be submitted to the National Accreditation Committee (KAN) to obtain an assessment for the higher standard.

"The purpose of the assessment is to improve health services in serving the community, one of which is to improve the service of patients experiencing psychiatric disorders," he said.
