Governor of South Kalimantan H Sahbirin Noor harvested rice from Serasi land in Maluka Baulin Village, Kurau Subdistrict, along with Tanah Laut Regent H Sukamta, Monday (25/3).
"I congratulate the success of the community in developing rice cultivation with very encouraging results," said H Sahbirin Noor.
The Governor strongly believes that agriculture can improve the economy and the welfare of society.
"South Kalimantan is currently ranked 10th as the national rice buffer province," he explained.
In the series of events, the governor handed over aid in the form of 0.13 tons of rice paddy seeds for 5 hectares of land to the Gapura Farmers Group.
In addition, the power thresher was handed over to the Usaha Mandiri Farmers Group, and one two-wheeled tractor to the Hemat Karya Farmers Group.
Then, the grant assistance from the South Kalimantan Provincial Government for Nurul Yakin Mosque in the village of Handil Maluka, Bumi Makmur Subdistrict was Rp50 million.
