A group of tourists from Finland led by the Indonesian Ambassador to Finland and Estonia Wiwiek Setyawati Firman visited the Center for Tourism Information and Diamond Cutting (PIPPI) of Martapura on Friday afternoon.


Members of the group consisting of media crews, tourism operators and associations from Finland and Estonia, witnessed the process of cutting the diamonds typical of Martapura, which became the tourist icon of the Banjar District.
           
Some members of the group, including Dini Vita Widjoningtias (Directorate of Europe II), Mrs. Merike Halik (Estonian Travel and Tourism Association), Mr. Revo Raudjärv (Tallinn TV-Estonia) and Mrs. Hanne-Mari Tarvonen (Helsingin Sanomat-Finland), enthusiastically watching the diamond cutting process.
      
The tourists seemed to take a lot of photo from the beauty and sparkle of the Martapura diamond which became a collection of PIPPI.
     
In addition to watching the sparkling diamond of Martapura, the tourists watched Sasirangan's unique fabric in the center of diamond sales and various typical South Kalimantan jewelry.
 
Various kinds of handicrafts from local residents, did not escape the attention of most of the group participants.
      
Deputy Director of KPwBI South Kalimantan Mohammad Irwan who accompanied the group said that PIPPI was one of the centers for the process of diamonds cutting guided by Bank Indonesia.
