The Banjarmasin Health Office recorded 19 positive victims of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in 2019, with one victim died.


The head of the agency's Prevention and Control Dr Dwi Atmi Susilastuti here on Friday said the dead victims occurred in January 2019. "In January, 10 people were infected with dengue, one died," she explained.

In February, continued Atmi, as many as nine people contracted the virus from the Aedes aegypti mosquito without any fatalities.

"We have not counted this March, hopefully there will be no addition," she said.

She added that the vigilance of the community had begun to increase after quite a number of examples of victims. "Thus our city does not set out as the DHF extraordinary situation (KLB) until now," he said.

However, she said, the agency handling and alertness was improved as if it had been an extraordinary situation, because there was already fatality.

Meanwhile, she pointed out, in addition to DHF, many victims were also found with dengue fever (DD).

"So we still expect the community to continue maintain the cleanliness of the environment, that is what is important to be of concern to all," she concluded.
