Residents of eight villages in Sebuku Island Sub-district, Kotabaru, asked PT PLN to maximize services to the local community.

 
The reason is blackout often occur in their area and are detrimental to society, ranging from damage to electronic goods to crippling their business.

"The refrigerator cannot turn on, automatically the fishermen cannot go to sea. They use ice cubes to preserve fish," said a village head Ujung Akhmad on Saturday.
 
His party also asked PLN to maximize the service so that electricity not to blackout again. In addition, the community also hopes that electricity which has only been lit at night to be enjoyed 24 hours.
 
In 2017 the local government promised that electricity on Sebuku Island would live a day and a night, but it turned out that it had only been running for three weeks.
 
"Currently there are still 12 hours starting at five in the afternoon until five in the morning," he added.
 
Sebuku Island Sub-District Head Joko Pitoyo justified power outages often occurring in his area, usually between three to five days each month.
 
He also hopes that 24-hour electricity services can be realized, in order government activities and public services can run well.
 
"Moreover, services now lead to applications, such as village financial reports. While electricity is only at night, while at daylight can not work, "said Joko.
