Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - About one thousand riders, most of whom are millennial groups aged of 17 to 35 year, enliven the automotive event "One Day Latber Adventure Trail" which was organized by South Kalimantan Regional Police's Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) in collaboration with Barracuda Adventure Trail (BCAT), Saturday (2/23).


With the start and finish at the South Kalimantan Regional Police's SPN Football Field in Banjarbaru, the riders tracing the 70-kilometer track with an estimated travel time of 4 to 5 hours.

"Through this event, we invite riders to become the pioneers of traffic safety. We can be wild in the forest, but orderly on the highway," said Chief Operation (Karo Ops) Sr Comr Isdiyono representing South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Inspector General Yazid Fanani while giving his remarks.

Isdiyono revealed that the productive age or millennial dominates both the perpetrators and victims of traffic accidents on the highway. The directorate noted that throughout 2018 there were 476 traffic accidents with 328 people dead and the majority of millennial groups.

Through the Millennial Road Safety Festival Program, the National Police seeks to reduce the number of traffic accidents that are currently at an alarming rate.

One Day Latber Adventure Trail activities become one of the means of socialization to the millennial community, especially the adventure trail community.

Deputy Director of Traffic, Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Pepen Supena Wijaya, who represented the director Sr Comr Muji Ediyanto, added that automotive events exploring the jungle with a motorbike were indeed a series of Millennial Road Safety Festivals held by the South Kalimantan.

"We thank our friends on the Barracuda Adventure Trail who helped support the Millennial Road Safety Festival by echoing traffic safety for the trail bike community," Pepen said.

The Millennial Road Safety Festival peak will be held at a major event in the Car Free Day at the area of the Governor Office on Jalan Trikora Banjarbaru on March 17, 2019.

BCAT coach Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Dr. Sugeng Riyadi said, the route that the rider went through was very challenging. In addition to the many mountain slopes, riders also cross rivers and muddy roads in the forest.

"From the start at the Banjarbaru SPN Field, the rider headed to Hantu Island, Uncle Birin's Kiram Park area to Mount Lumut and Mount Kesot before returning to finish in the SPN," said the man who served as Deputy Director of the Special Criminal Investigation of South Kalimantan Regional Police.

Among the riders were North Hulu Sungai (HSU) Police Chief AKBP Ahmad Arif Sopiyan and a number of National Police and TNI officers.

Their heavy adventure in the difficult terrain paid off with many door prizes waiting to be taken home, such as motorbikes, refrigerators, washing machines, motorbike spare parts and dozens of other attractive prizes.
