Tanjung, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - PT Conch South Kalimantan cement factory operating in Saradang Village, Tabalong District, is committed to providing social responsibility (CSR) funds to communities around the company's operational area.
According to PT Conch South Kalimantan Chairman Yan Jia Cheng through his interpreter Florentinus, this year CSR funds are prioritized for the development of local education.
"The education sector has become a priority for Conch, such as renovating schools and building library facilities," explained Florentinus.
Including, he said, providing scholarships for exemplary students from poor families.
Florentinus, who was accompanied by Conch management representative, was speaking when they received the Tabalong Regent Anang Syakhfiani's working visit and his staff to the cement factory.
The Conch party promised to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Tabalong District Government regarding a scholarship program to Chinese for Tabalong students.
Regent Anang Syakhfiani welcomed the commitment of this Chinese company. "We want Conch to be able to provide a three-year scholarship to Tabalong students so they can work in this cement factory," explained Anang.
Previously 16 students from Tabalong received scholarships to China from the local government had worked in this cement factory.
