Tanjung, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The popularity of Tanta Village as a producer of sweet and high-quality langsat fruit is undoubtedly true. About 75 percent of langsat (duku) fruit production comes from Tanta, therefore the Tabalong district government prepares this village as a fruit tourism center.
"In addition to producing the largest number of fruits, Tanta Village is also strategically to be developed as a fruit tourism center," explained Regent Anang Syakhfiani.
Anang while attending the 'Banaik Langsat' (climbing langsat tree) event, which was held by the village youth group, invited the community to preserve local fruit.
He expressed his appreciation for this event and supported that this region could develop as a new tourist destination.
Chief committee Yudi Lesmana said one of the village innovation programs is a langsat festival would be held in Tanta Village. "We will also prepare Tanta Village as a unique hawker village," he said.
The 'Banaik Langsat' program in the residents' garden was attended by the Tabalong District Government officials, PT Adaro Indonesia representatives, members of the House of Representative's Commission V Abdul Latief Hanafiah and Deputy Speaker of the DPRD Tabalong Masruddin.
