Kandangan, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Deputy Regent of South Hulu Sungai (HSS) Syamsuri Arsyad saw off participants of jalan sehat baputik ratik or healthy walk while picking up trash in the Lambung Mangkurat Kandangan Square.


The Head of the Public Housing, Settlement Area, and Environment (Dispera KPLH) H MK Saputra here on Sunday (1/20) said this activity was in order to educate the public about the importance of "baputik ratik" (picking up trash) and the culture of clean and healthy living.

"We hope that later the awareness of disposing of garbage in its place will grow, and our society caring to collect garbage so the environment is clean," he said.

Deputy Regent Syamsuri Arsyad said this was an innovation, where healthy walk activities were combined with collecting garbage and on the other hand supporting government programs to create a green and clean environment.

With this activity, it is expected that people who used to dispose of litter will feel embarrassed because other people clean it.

"We want the community to be accustomed to disposing of garbage in its place. If there is scattered garbage, they will care to collect it, so that our city is completely clean of garbage," he said.

In this event, awards were given to the winners of the Green and Clean Village Competition in 2018 and the winners of the cleanliness and beauty of the environment.

Also present, Chairman of the HSS DPRD Akhmad Fahmi, 1003 Kandangan Military Commander Lieutenant Colonel Infantry Suhardi Aji Sriwijayanto and Deputy Police Chief Comr Arief Himawan.
