Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Kotabaru District Court (PN Kotabaru) begins to introduce e-court that will expedite hearing process, saves cost, and open a greater public access to court service.

At least four programs are provided in this online-base system, namely case registration, down payment of case fees, online notifications, and electronic calling.

"With this system, the document will be well archived and can be accessed from anywhere," said Head of the PN Kotabaru Darwanto, Thursday.

He gave an example, later the plaintiff through the attorney could register a lawsuit remotely without having to come directly to the court.

While the litigants do not need to go back and forth to read the lawsuit, answer, replicate and duplicate because the file is simply sent via e-mail.

"At the time of verification, it began to convene in court," he explained.

Not only saves time, the system will also reduce the cost of summoning litigants to attend the trial.

"What has cost to reach millions of rupiah now become zero rupiahs, because it eliminates the need for delegation procedures in the event that the parties exist in different regions," he said.

Darwanto explained, the e-court is an application developed by the Supreme Court to improve services to justice seekers that will be implemented in all court work units.
