Amuntai, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The North Hulu Sungai (HSU) Government, South Kalimantan, is preparing for the generation of gold, one of which is by combating nutritional problems in children that cause stunting.

Head of the Population and Family Planning Control Agency (DPPKB) Hj Anisah Rasyidah at Amuntai on Thursday said the agency has its own program in preparing the golden generation to be achieved in 2045.

"We will conduct socialization by utilizing the potential and local wisdom to jointly to fight stunting," she said.

She explained the background of focus of attention on stunting because this issue concerns nutrition, health, and the quality of human resources.

"Now we have to pay more attention to the condition of pregnant women and the nutritional intake of mothers and children, especially in the first 1000 days, so there will be no more stunting cases," she pointed out.

"In 2013 HSU was the highest in stunting cases in South Kalimantan, so the local government tried to keep pressing it in the community," Anisah explained.

At present, said Anisah, there are six villages are the focus of handling stunting. Through the Kampung KB (Family Planning Village) the program is expected to be successful until HSU significantly free from stunting problems.
