Paringin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The national strategic program for universal health coverage, or health insurance for the entire community, achieved by the Balangan Government, South Kalimantan, is truly utilized by the Sahabat Balangan Center (SBC) social group to help people get health services.

The SBC team came to those who were sick, but could not afford it, by registering them, then connecting with the closest health authorities.

"There are already many people who use health services through the KIS (Healthy Indonesia Card), and some underprivileged people who are ill but do not have KIS, we do initial data collection, from Family Cards (KK) and ID, then register at BPJS Kesehatan (Health Care and Social Security Agency) to get KIS, "said SBC Chairman Dewi Purwanti, Monday (11/19).

This method, she said, can help citizens and the government, both village, sub-district, regency and even nationally, so that citizens are helped to get health services which are national programs through the KIS BPJS Health program.

So far, SBC, by utilizing the KIS program, can help residents cope with cancer, asthma, lung disease and other diseases, which if calculated with money will cost millions to tens of millions of rupiah.

Previously, the Balangan District Government implemented a health insurance program through the Regional Health Insurance (Jamkesda) funded by the local budget (APBD). Since January 1, 2018, the local government has facilitated its citizens to have the National Health Insurance-Healthy Indonesia Card (JKN-KIS). Every citizen who has a KTP can use JKN-KIS.

For its success in achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC), Balangan was awarded the UHC Award along with 92 districts, 28 cities and 4 provinces in Indonesia.
